They've been talking about it for a while, but Motorola has finally delivered on a long-term promise, bringing Linux-powered Rokr and Razr 2 phones to market. CEO Ed Zander has made a  Linux-based phone an important part of the electronic giant's return to the top of the mobile phone heap, and the new phone versions are the first products in the company's push to beat out new devices from Apple and other vendors. The new MotoRizr Z6 (formerly a Rokr) stands as an especially important new platform, as it includes complete Microsoft connectivity. If the two new phones sell well, others, such as the Ming, may well follow in the U.S. market.
