Verizon grabs iPhone alternative
No phone in the last year has received more attention than the Apple iPhone. With AT&T tied to the iPhone for five years, the other carriers are looking for handsets to compete with the upcoming device. Phone manufacturers can compete on different bases--fashion, functions, or both. Verizon has teamed with LG for the Prada, or KE850, that looks to come at the iPhone with similar features in a package that seems taken from the iPhone playbook. A touch-screen device with media capabilities that mirror the iPhone, and the Prada fashion sense, the KE850 will join the ranks of phones taking advantage of the increase in interest begun by the iPhone.
