&lt;P&gt;Given the findings of a survey (see the Worth Knowing section below for more info)&amp;nbsp;in which mobile users clearly indicate they&#039;re not too worried about security, the news last week about a new security specification bodes well for those of us who are smart enough to be worried about mobile and wireless security.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;The spec is under development by the Trusted Computing Group, a vendor effort that includes Nokia and Samsung Electronics which has proven itself invaluable in building security standards for servers, networks and PCs. The group just released a few of the &quot;use cases&quot; that illustrate the mobile security areas which the new standard will cover, such as securing lost phones, managing patches and allowing for secure e-payment processes. It&#039;s great news for both users, enterprises and vendors obviously, and if the spec comes out on time as planned, vendors will likely start producing supporting devices by end of 2006. - &lt;A href=&quot;mailto:judy@fiercemarkets.com&quot;&gt;Judy&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
